This message turned up in search, but its forum couldn’t be identified from the original transcript, so it may not be linked into its thread.
We used to connect two computers with MIDI, to transfer scores made with
incompatible programs. Of course, all the tracks would be lumped into a
single track on input, but I imagine some of today's programs would be able
to edit and un-slice the data based on channels…
