You might want to read the thread in Section 0 concerning the Video-7 VGA controller. At this time, Video-7 doesn't support 16 color display in the 800 x 600 mode. The AUI and 800 x 600 is supported, but only with 8 colors. The rolling that you are getting on your monitor is very likely in the monitor itself. The monitor "syncs," unlike the controller. The controller "switches" and locks in on frequencies that are already specified. The monitor adjusts to those same frequencies. The rolling that you have suggests that the clockspeeds aren't matching between the monitor and the board, and the most likely suspect is the monitor. But hey…don't ask me…I'm just a salesman…<grin>. Lansing Pugh's another graphics guru here online…you might get his opinion as well.
