Bill, tell me if I have this straight. 1) Your lisp routine shells AutoCAD to DOS 2) It then copies .DWGs from some other portion of the hard drive to the current subdirectory. (Updating/Replacing similar .DWGS?) 3) You attempt to insert these drawings and they are still the old drawings, or not there according to ACAD. 4) You quit to Main menu and the drawings are accepted as per your expectations. I'll have to test this on a machine with 3.3 (to see if that is the reason), my 3.2 dos machine performs this outline without fail. If you do all this "by hand", shelling to dos then doing an insert, will it work correctly? Are these .DWGs replacing blocks already inserted into the drawing? And if so, are you using the <drawing name>= to redefine the blocks? Please give me a step by step script of what is happening, and if possible the portion of the lisp code that controls this.
