Ang: OK. I have both the HP DesignJet and the Enter NovaJets. In fact – I have two NovaJets – one of which was sold to one of our clients sight unseen. Both the plotters work exceptionally well. The HP is heavily built, and has typical HP ruggedness and thoroughness of design. It works well – spitting out E size plots every 6 minutes or so. The NovaJet has the advantage of color. It is not so fast when running color, because it only has one print head for each color. But when you put in 4 black heads, it is very fast. No, I haven't timed it yet. No chance for it yet. But it'll haul butt. The NovaJet is built with a simpler paper handling mechanism that may not be so accurate (for things such as mapping this may be important), but it does work very well. Actually, I've had to perform an engineering change order in the field on both NovaJet plotters (serial numbers 10 and 11), as there was a small clearance problem on the head assembly. No big deal – I did give the design engineer hell about it though. Fact is, either plotter is mighty nice. And a good justification to retire the pen plotter. Evan
