#R11 hangs my machine
I have been installing and using AutoCAD for seven years. I read manuals.
I am a Systems Analyst and a network supervisor. I can't figure this
problem out. I've been at it for 6 months.
I just installed R11 again to make sure it's right. The installation ran
perfect. IT ALWAYS HANGS THE MACHINE UP AT THE SAME POINT when it is
loading my drawing for an edit session. The drawing was created with R10
and edits fine under R10. The drawing is 3.5Mb. Here is my system
configuration:
Compaq Deskpro 386-16 4Mb Ram Compaq DOS 3.12 40MB hard disk with 15Mb free
on 1 partition QEMM 5.0 NOVELL drivers loaded high with QEMM 560K main
memory left ATI Wonder + video board
Acad R11 is installed and runs from my C drive – it is not running on the
network nor are my .DWG file on the network.
There is nothing fancy in my CONFIG.SYS file- it's sort of like this:
DEVICE=QEMM.SYS…. < QEMM OPTIMIZE inserted this line, I forget the
FILES=40 params at the moment. BUFFERS=20
LOADHI..DEVICE=MOUSE.SYS
I also tried installing it on an IBM Model 80. It hangs up on it also!
Any ideas? My Acad dealer is 400 miles away and isn't much help. Thank You
