Charles,
I just returned from another demo of Illustrator '88 and I'm glowing as much
now as when I saw it last week. On a side by side comparison with FreeHand
(under MultiFinder), I-88 is simpler to use and more elegant. It _does_ lack
some of the text handling that really should be there which is there very
thing that makes me think that perhaps Kathleen is right – both programs may
be necessary to get the job done. I haven't yet seen the seperation utility
or the "Draw Over" utility (which will convert MacDraw files into Illustrator
files) but I'm very impressed with the specs on each – particularly the
seperator utility which (I believe) will even print test color strips. I'm
anxiously awaiting my next communique from Adobe (I _did_ a Colophon in the
mail today, which will suffice for the present, I suppose…).
