Jim,
I didn't read your first message, but if you are trying to capture Autocad
screens to GIF I might be able to help you. I've been trying to do the same
thing for about a year! There are two possible paths: either use the VGA
display driver and capture the screen with a TSR (remember to deselect the
Status line, Command Prompt area, and the Menu Sidebar); or you can
generate a SLD file and use John Intorcio's SlideManager (found here
somewhere in the Forum). I prefer the SlideManager method which converts
the SLD format into a PCX format. There are a couple of other programs that
will also do this, such as AutoManager, and/or AutoVue — ones like that
(sorry I can't remember which ones). From there you can choose from a
plethora of graphical translators to get PCX to GIF. If you have Windows,
the WINGIF program is one of the best; if you don't, try GWS (Graphical
Work Shop). Both of these can be found in the GRAPHSUPPORT Forum.
If you have any more questions, or can tell me if I answered the right
question <g>, let me know.

P.S. There is also a RND to PCX converter that works pretty well, not to
mention HPGL to WPG to GIF and other combinations. <Sigh>
