#It Came From Apple
A dealer friend showed me the Mac the other day (I was in the store for
other purposes :)… One thing he showed me was SoundMaster, a Desk
Accessory that let you set different digitized sounds for different
events… like, "Good Morning Viet Nam!" for boot up, "I'll be back" for
shutdown.. and maybe a werewolf cry for disk ejection, among others. It
reminded me mostly of SRT. I think that such a program, if done to look as
'professional' as it does on the Mac, would be a benefit to 1.4/2.0.
InstallBeep and SRT are too 'hackerish' I think to be used from Workbench.
The other thing was the Apple menu. It reminded me most of the programs
MyMenu and HandyBench, except that it was confined to 1 menu. This also I
think would be A Good Thing for 1.4/2.0 if it were adopted. Okay…
