#cd rom caddy
Expectations dashed department… Stopped in at Fry's this morning. Yeah,
they've got caddys — at $13.95 per! They were even trying to figure out
how to zap me for shipping & handling before I fled. But it is encouraging
that CDROM stuff is starting to hit the mainstream: I saw about 15-20
titles on the shelves in the software department, some clustered (in the
Mac section, even tho' it was mostly IBM) and some side-by-side with
floppy-type stuff. Hadn't seen that before there; the Fremont store, where
I stop often cuz it's on the way home, doesn't have any such stuff that
I've noticed.
Then I meandered by CompUSA; they've got a nic little section for CDROM
software that's new, maybe two dozen titles. Prices aren't too bad either.
They have the new Holmes, Manhole, and some others you don't see often too.
No caddys, though.
Thanks again.
