YEs, $399 is excellent for a v.32bis data modem. Street price should be
under $300. Apparently there is one outfit in the Compuserve Mall (GO MALL)
that has them advertised for $272.
I don't know about the compatibility of various Fax packages to each modem.
Could be that a modem supporting say, Class II, will work with any pacjage
that talks Class II. I don't expect to have to wait too long for Fax
capability.
