Roger, it depends on the dxf file. If the architectural model was created
using ACADr11 using AME, then the model will have to be meshed (SOLMESH)
before you can expect to see correct 3D solids in 3DSr2's DXF imports. –

BTW: You can export 2D (plan view) DXFs and bring them into 3DS's shaper
and loft them into 3D objects for further manipulation in the editor.
