Yes, I'm convinced that the 2.21 in MSL is broken in some way. I've gone
back to good old 2.20 which performs flawlessly and was the one that came
with my Mitsumi CD-ROM drive. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
The other mystery is the statement that 2.21 was shipped with Windows 3.1
It doesn't appear to be the case with my 3.1 package unless it's very well
hidden somehow.
