Xetec was rather unhelpful when I called, and I called more than once. I'll try again, of course. When I call a PR person and beg for info, I usually expect them to talk my ear off. It turns out Xetec's driver works with other hardware. I didn't expect that, they didn't volunteer it, and they ignored my request to look over the software driver so I could write about it. I would explicitly state that I was not looking for freebie hardware or even a loan of a CD-ROM drive, yet they kept thinking I wanted a drive. Frustrating. If you have their BBS number handy, I'd appreciate it. Yes, the NASA color pics came from the sampler disc. My method was round-about. I think I viewed them on the PC, grabbed the screen, copied the file to the Amiga and translated it with AD Pro, then sent it to AmigaWorld as a Toaster framestore. I don't have the Viking discs yet. Are you saying that the 512-byte block CDs are incompatible with the CDROM-FS driver, or the Xetec driver, or both? I thought they handled only 2048-byte blocks…
