An engineer from NewTek told me the VideoToaster works fine on the
A3000 if you don't have anything else added that relies on the A3000's
power supply. The power supply on the A3000 just isn't big enough. Do you
have any other boards or extra hard drives etc. on the power supply? If so
you can upgrade the power supply.
Asked why they haven't modified the Toaster to reduce it's power needs
he said that it isn't that simple. As soon as they start reengineering the
board there are all sorts of other things they are going to want to add or
change sooo it isn't something that we will see soon.
