HELP! SBPro Ext CD-ROM!
*** HELP!!! ***
Ever notice how this sort of problem occurs when you try to install
something late Friday night and you know you can't get technical support
until Monday morning?
I have one PC in which I had recently installed the SoundBlaster Pro
Multimedia Upgrade Kit (SBPro card and INTERNAL CD-ROM drive) with very
little problem (apart from the DOS 5.0 SETVER necessity which is mentioned
nowhere in the documentation or read.me files).
I therefore decided to purchase an external version for my other PC which
already has two diskette drives. This is the SoundBlaster Pro Card version
2.0 and the EXTERNAL CD-ROM drive and additional card. I still can't get
the damn thing to work!!!
It plays audio CDs no problem but refuses to access any of the data CDs I
have, which work perfectly well on the other PC and the other drive, such
as MS Bookshelf, Sierra's Jones…
I get the following message: CDR103: CDROM not High Sierra or ISO-9660
format reading drive D.
I am running the SoundBlaster Pro control version 1.02, their CD-ROM device
driver version 1.12 and MSCDEX version 2.20 on a Dell 333P PC with 8 MB RAM
and a 50 MB hard-disk.
HELP!!! ;-(
