Excuse me, John, but often I've found commercial software that was put on the market with little to no support, often bad docs, and the "cost" is always higher than public domain software. Many public domain authors pour themselves into their programs – spending a lot more time on them than commercial authors can afford to do. GadToolsBox is the best program of it's sort, and it's free. Same with a lot of other public domain programs. There are many PD programs that do real jobs that no commercial program can do. It's unfortunate that the people who need these functions can't get them commercially since studios and places that use the machine "for real" aren't likely to go downloading PD programs and trying them out. Now, if the magazines would find useful programs of this sort and review them as they would a commercial program – they would be doing everybody a service. (Perfect example: AnimBuild, a freely redistributable program by Cryogenic Software does something that no commercial program (that I know of) can do). …Steve
