Creative Labs Upgrade
Having problems with Creative Labs upgrade kit (SoundBlaster Pro and CD ROM
drive). Been unable to get Creative Labs on the phone and won't call back.
Real strange problem. Microsoft Bookshelf works just fine. So do a few
other CD ROMs and any audio disk. When I use the Natl Geo MAMMALS disc
picture and definition show up great – but the sound track is off one index
to the left and dictionary is off one index to the right. (Looking at a
gorilla and asking for sound produces GOAT sounds. Asking for
pronunciation of gorilla gives you GRISON.) Really funny, but not what I
bought.
Sent the Natl Geo disk back but they said it was OK. Swapped disks with
another PC buff here in Norway and his disk gives same problems on my
setup. Both disks work fine on his Sony CD ROM setup.
Any ideas!!! Am using latest version of MSCDEX from Creative Labs and
their latest version of SBPCD.SYS. What else can be wrong?
