I think we both agree that computer consumers need better built-in, shockproof BS-detectors. I choose my tools very carefully. I wait, and then wait longer before adopting anything. (I just switched to 2.0 about a week ago.) I'll let the bleeding edge fanatics find the bugs for me. There's plenty of interesting technology out there, and no one is forcing you to buy any particular piece of software. As for PD softwre being more accessible – well, that's debatable. Joe User does not necessarily have the same sources that you do. Joe User is not blowing $300 a month on Compuserve. When Joe goes searching for PD product X, he has no way to know if it's really X, or a hacked version, or the latest version. Hopefully, with a commercial product the developer can assure him of that much. Why did you buy PageStream so impulsively? Didn't you have a method to determine if it was buggy? Had you no patience? Or were you simply willing to risk the cash?
