Steve: I think you have to remember that while you have a LONG list of PD or shareware software that you've spent lots of time developing, and debuging, and then made available to the Amiga community at large (I assume for the benefit of the Amiga community, open systems, etc) John while being a real nice guy, probably wouldn't release any software for any system unless he had a fairly accurate idea of how much money it was going to make for him. I'm not putting anyone down, surely a program is the property of it's author, and they can do whatever they want to with it, but I do think that there are definitly 2 different schools of thought at work here. I don't think that John said that ALL PD stuff is BAD, but rather that it doesn't really need magazine reviews (as much as commercial stuff does), because users can usually get a copy of the PD program and try it before it costs them any money, whereas with a commercial program a user SHOULN'T have a copy of it before they pay for it (usually), and therefore would depend more on a magazine review then they might with a PD utility. -Mike Schiller In sunny Fort Lauderdale
