You're right, ESPECIALLY those people who make the jump from PD to
commercial software end up selling an inferior product. So what changed
your mind about it? You got a pre-printed manual and essentially the same
software, and now you don't like it? (I'm assuming you meant that you used
the PD version of PowerPacker.)
As for your anim example, keep in mind that that tool was made by a
commercial software company. They made the tool as part of what they were
doing. I think they did ship it with their product. That's a little
different than a pure PD program, in genesis and purpose.
