Additionally, PD software seems to reach a 'plateau' where it is deemed to
be 'good enough', and remains the program of choice until the commercial
offerings surpass it, if indeed they ever do. In many cases, the PD stuff
will remain the only choice because it just isn't profitable to sell a
similar program.
