Amiga Seen AGAIN!!??!
My gosh!!! This must be the most I have seen the Amiga outside of it's
"normal" environment! Maybe Commodore has some new ad campaign… well…
I said just "maybe".
In the May issue of "NEW MEDIA", there is a good article in there on the
Amiga and its uses in the multi-media market. The article is called
"Pioneering AMIGA Still Packs a Wallop". There even was a little mentioned
about how well the Amiga was at _networking_, of all things! The article
was well written and took in a lot of the strengths of the computer. The
main problem they seemed to give the Amiga was its poor advertising from
Commodore. The article quoted Commodore as saying The Amiga accounts for
55% of computer sales for Commodore, yet only 11% of Amigas are sold in the
U.S. 🙁
I have been getting this magazine for a number of months now mainly because
our office here somehow got a free subscription. Usually, I just glance on
through, then dump it in to the 'ol trash because of its MAC/PC domination.
This issue really took me by surprise. I had to take it back out of the
trash after I saw the work AMIGA on the cover. A closer look even showed
two reviews at the end of the magazine: Gold Disk's Showmaker and Video
Director. It gave Showmaker a good review and Director an excellent review
🙂
For a magazine without one ad in it for an Amiga product, I find this as a
pleasant surprise.
