Networking 3DS
Jamie's using Lantastic for the rendering farm at Autodesk and, although I
don't know the details, it works great. He's got something like eight
machines hooked up. Five for rendering, and three workstations. For
example, I've watched while five of the machines are rendering different
animation segments while Jamie has 3ds on a sixth machine and AniPro on
another. He'll work on the geometry of a model in 3ds while editing its
texture map in AniPro. However, you _do_ need good casters on your chair,
because there's a lot of rolling between machines. <g>
