WOA Report
Well here are some brief observations from today's WOA.
–> Size: about the same as last year.
–> Emplant: It DOES work! I saw it running Adobi Photoshop on a 4000
with a 256 color display.
–> C='s MPEG board for the 4000: WOW! Full motion video playing off the
hard drive in a resizable window. 30 minutes -> 54megs! And it looked
great.
–> 4000T: You guys who have been waiting won't be disappointed. This is
one slick puppy!
–> PAGESTREAM 3.0!!: To quote Phil R. "HOLLY COW!!" This is not a
patched upgrade to the old code. PgS 3.0 is ALL NEW from the ground up.
The feature list is too long to list, but I will say that EVERYTHING that
I have heard anyone ask for on the PgS wish list is IS in 3.0 –
EVERYTHING! If you want to know about a specific feature ask, and will let
you know, but the answer will undoubtedly be yes.
To paraphrase Michael Loader: We're not interested in going after PPage
anymore – we're going after Quark Express. Every feature in Quark Express
(with all it's extensions) is in PgS 3.0 plus much more.
Here's a small taste: FULL arexx support. PgS 3.0 includes both a built in
arexx editor (with hyper help) AND an "Arexx Recorder". Activate the
recorder. A symbol starts flashing in the titled bar, and every thing you
do ( yes that's EVERYTHING) in PgS is recorded as an arexx script! Oh yeah
PgS 3.0 has a mini arexx interpreter built in so that if your script
includes only PgS arexx commands then the scripts will runs WITHOUT arexx
running on the system.
PgS 3.0 will be available late summer 93. Yes I AM excited about this!:)

up one of these)
–> I saw NO yellow ribbons :(. Maybe all the CISers will be coming on
Saterday?
