To use the 1.44 meg drives you will have to 1) buy the drive (about $100)
and 2) upgrade the OS (about $90).
I can not possibly encourage you enough on the OS upgrade. The features
and convenience added is nothing short of remarkable. The upgrade to
version 2.1 of the OS will also give you CrossDOS which will handle MSDOS
floppies and even hard drives.
Also, there are flicker fixer cards available for the Amiga 2000 now but
they do require a VGA (or multisync) monitor.
