What version of the software are you using? High density support is three weeks old and I've set up Emplants on other machines too as early as 4 revisions ago of the software (A2000's with GVP's old 28MHZ accelerator),and it actually did multitask well. They've had serial support for the Amiga side since the beginning and true Appletalk isn't there yet, but if asked Jim and Joe will tell you the exact priority of projects being worked on, as far as promises go Jim had promised me A4000 support within 2 weeks of him getting an A4000, when they got thier machine they posted it in two days. Comparing Emplant to Amax is an intersting comparison, especially when you look at Amaxes history, things have moved along a lot faster in Emplant land then they happened on the Amax front but it is true that Amax *is* more stable but you have to look at how long it took to get there, and that Amax is no where near as ambitious as Emplant even in it's current mode. Their time table as it stands now with the Emplant is 1.32 bit clean, 2.file transfer to and from the Mac/Amiga sides, 3.Sound, 4.Graphic boards support (after all what good is extra graphic support unless everything else is in place? Although DMI support is close.) Jim and Joe are human and true not everything works in all environments the way they'd like (for instance my sybil hated my jobs machine rev 6.0 A2000 but loved my home rev 6.1 A2000) but I've found them extreamly helpful, and as with anything people do have to pay close attension to the updates they provide (wich are very frequent BTW).
