#Phone connection?
I'm looking for a device to connect two phone lines. I want to be able to dial
line 1, have it answer, then pick up line 2 (at line 1's location) and let me
dial a second number.
I'm not looking for a call-forwarding device (like the Radio Shack CFS-200). I
don't want to call a specific number, I want to dial it myself. It would be
nice if this gizmo was bi-directional, accepting calls on line 2 and passing
them to line 1.
I know some corporate-like phone systems can do this, but has anyone ever heard
of a standalone device?
(BTW, I did try to out-smart the CFS-200 into doing this. I programmed a
call-forward number of "pause pause" so that it wouldn't really dial a second
number. However, it was too smart for its own good: it requires to hear a
voice at the other end before it connects line 2 to line 1, although it's
actually "dialed" on line 2.)
(Why do I ask here? Well, if the hams don't know, who will? 🙂
