Dave,
No it's not…what programs like Stacker (and DoubleSpace) do is sit in
the food chain between DOS and the drive and compress data as it goes onto
the drive and decompress it as it comes off…very similar to what LHARC,
ZIP, ARC and the like do.
Yes..there is more to it than that…but that's the basics. It has
nothing to do with looking at 1 sector as if it were two sectors.
