Dave, He formatted it under DOS 5 (according to your message)…I presume that was after booting from a clean DOS 5 floppy? And that he used the /S option to format to put DOS 5 on the disk? I'm sure you're aware that FORMAT in and of itself does nothing but check the sectors and 0 the FAT and root directory. It does not 0 the sectors on the drive. Use something like WIPEDISK to really 0 all the sectors, then FORMAT it after booting with a DOS 5 floppy. There is nothing that I've seen in DOS 6 that will do ANY physical harm to a system. Don
