PC file compatibiltiy is really no problem. Using DOS-2-DOS or Cross-Dos
(both commercial, well under $50) or the MSH messydos file system
(shareware) you can read and write msdos format disks (but not high density
disks). Commodore BridgeBoards that actually put either an XT or AT PC
inside your Amiga 2000 or 3000 have dropped substantialy in price… You
can get an AT Bridgeboard new for around $450 and used for around $350. I'm
selling an XT Bridgeboard for 'the best offer' (see the message in the
calssifieds in AmigaUser). For the Amiga 500, there's the ATOnce emulator
which runs new for around $350 and I think that Supra has another emulator
out for the 500 at around the same cost.
I use spreadsheets (Lotus) and wordprocessor docs (Wordperfect saved as
ascii) from my PC on my Amiga all the time using nothing more than
cross-dos.
New Horizons (the publishers of Dos-2-Dos) have a section in the
AmigaVendor forum.
