If it takes me two days to build a graphic that should take four hours because I can't figure out the documentation, I'll end up having a service bureau construct the effect because I can't SPARE two days for a single effect. So I would say rather the reverse is true. If I'm using an Amiga for my own entertainment, I'm not under the gun to be productive. So I can work on my project every night for a month, if that's what it calls for. Plus, I can experiment and do whatever comes naturally, as opposed to working commercially where the client will say, "that's very nice, but can you make it do THIS?" and you'd better know how to do whatever it is. By the way, I'll agree with Bill — professional equipment often has poor documentation; you have to attend a class or apprentice yourself to someone to learn to use half the gear. One of the drawbacks of Imagine is that no such course is, as yet, available. Largely because there is not enough of a market for one (such classes typically cost upwards of $500 — some over $3000.
