Hypermedia pay Fred a royalty on every CDROM they sell. I don't think others do. However, the CDROM disks are only updated after 50 disks. Yes, we could save our members money by just buying the CDROM, and I think most clubs have done exactly that. I think that is what happened to his subscriber list – along with a few other things. But the truth is, he deserves compensation for the work he does. I don't know the equitable way to solve the problems involved. Hope we can find a fair way to do it. As a matter of fact, my club gets the CDROM version as well as the subscription. That is, three clubs (I belong to all three, and coordinate the effort) have joined to subscribe to the disks, and each club gets the Hypermedia CDROM disk as well. By splitting the cost among three clubs – and we did this with Fred's knowledge and permission – we could afford to support him still. He really deserves the suppport. Betty
