I have a SoundBlaster 16asp (and have had the Pro) with their CD-ROM. I have not had any problems with it using Multimedia. All references to capacity are basically bogus — all CD-ROMs (drives and discs) have the same capacity! The advantage of using the one from CL is that it fits, it works, and no other controller card is necessary. Also, a cable is provided to run audio directly to your SBPro card as another input. The disadvantages are that it is a bit more money than other drives with equal or better performance. Creative is coming out with a newer, faster drive very soon that will do double-speed transfer, photo-CD, power eject (big woopee), etc. but will be more expensive. There are now drivers (try the PACVEN forum) for the old CD-ROM to make it Photo-CD compatible, so if you just wanted Photo-CD (Kodak), you still don't have to get the new drive. What it boils down to is that, for a little more money, you get a configuration that works out of the box, and you don't have to fiddle with, or question when other problems come up. All in all, a pretty good deal. Hope this helps.
