Hi, David. I'll let you know if 3D SURF will read the 1:250,000 Scale DEM (ASCII) I ordered from American Digital Corp. for $60. I decided to try this "Medium Scale" Land Resolution before I try the 1:24,000 High Res. Scale ($250). The area I'm "playing" with only requires 1 quad, so I can see the time involved if you need to combine several quads together. What do you think of these costs for a quad? I wasn't sure if you heard of Schreiber Instrument's 3D SURF IPAS ($149). American Digital Corp. (a source for obtaining DEMs) uses 3D SURF and calls it a great add-on. I also heard of architects who use Schreiber's QuickSurf add-on for AutoCAD (more expensive, though). BTW, what do you do – and where is Crater Lake? I play with this stuff because of a newfound interest in Landscape Architecture. Thanks for all your tips and suggestions as I am new to this earth science stuff… Best Regards, –Lisa
