The CIA (there are two of them) are chips which control several functions on the Amiga. On the 2000 you need to take out the power supply and disk drive frame to get at them. I'd reccomend getting the Amiga Emergency Startup Kit from Grapevine, which has a bunch of diagnostic charts and software as well as tools and chips. Re: Tools, Both Quarterback Tools and Ami-Back Tools are decent progams available commercially. They optimize your Hard Disks, check for errors and find deleted files for restoration.
