expect my sort of reaction, didn't you?
My reactions to your original questions: Just because something looks like it
was made by a river, doesn't mean it was made by a river. Browse some books on
fractal landscapes: a few very simple rules will make very "natural" looking
scenes of erosion and seemingly river-eroded gorges. Sludge rolling down
undersea cliffs could cause a lot of this, I think. A better question would
be, how do you expect underwater landscapes to vary from air-locked landscapes?
And there's only so many ways to pile and shape rock, so it doesn't surprise me
that distant cultures used pyramids. It's a four-sided way to pile rocks. And
humans are remarkably similar when it comes to brain wiring… a common custom
doesn't mean that those two cultures were once in communication.
Your questions about evaporative minerals in deep strata interested me more…
I'd love to hear what mainstream science says about it, as well as any more
radical theories. Offhand, I'd say that it doesn't necessarily mean that an
ocean evaporated, it means that *some* body of water evaporated. It doesn't
tell me that it was at sea level, for example – why not underground?
