#Targa 2000
/* I don't own the 2000 but my use of the Targa+64 relys heavily on the cards
ability to capture and output RGB video. The 2000 can apparently only capture
and output Y/C or Composite video. There's a big difference between each
format with RGB being the best followed by Y/C and Composite. I'm not slamming
the 2000, it would be a card that I would consider strongly if I was to put
together a non-linear system. I really wish they would have included better
inputs and outputs. I hope they plan to upgrade soon. Brent Bonet – POP!

This is news (and thanks for passing this along)… I received a different
story at NAB, and I'll check into it. You might wish to contact Truevision
about this too…. the more they hear this complaint, the more they're apt to
act upon it. I was specific about this need and I was assured it was avaialble
in the 2000. Might have been a demojock out of his league too, we don't always
get the whole story.
Case in point, the Autodesk demo of 3D Studio had a demo job showing the cow
channel. He went through the motions and when he was done, showed a movie he
had done earlier to show final results, and he mentioned that everything we had
seen was in 3D Studio. A caregful glance at the flick showed a camera glare
effect only available with certain IPAS routines. Not the whole story. 🙂 -dave
