Agree. I can't imagine how anybody could say that Intel doesn't know what to do
with the PCI bus. Not only Intel, but Apple and IBM for the PowerPCs, Digital
for the Alphas and the big companies for their highend Intel based stuff
ACTUALLY KNOWS where PCI is going. Not to talk about the manufacturers of
boards. While PCI is being integrated in multiple platforms, local bus seems to
be the choice for the lower end Intel equipment. AS you said, "absurd,
unfounded and totally off base". Sincerelly, I can't see serious highend
systems adopting VLbus (neither VLbus 2.0) as their bus of choice for highspeed
connections with the processor(s). IMHO, it has an image of not more that a way
to speed up flight simulators <g> Seriously, I don't like when someone gets
something bad and start to add patches and patches to make it go faster…
well, I don't like the idea.
