Hi !
Talk here (Germany) circles very much around HP – but that they are only
interetsed in AAA and NOT Commodore as such. In any case how can you "buy"
(i.e. pay money for) a company with over 100 Mil $ negative net worth !
My guess is that certain parts of Commodore (e.g. Commodore Germany & maybe
also Commodore UK) will be sold off as entities. The Commodore Holding company
would sell the copyright on the technology to a market major (e.g. HP, Sony or
someone like that). The new owners of Commodre in Germany/U.K. for instance
would then pay only license fees to the states but apart from that be free to
manufacture and market on a local basis. On this basis Commodore Germany could
be sold as a going concen.
I expect an announcement in the next few days and am not overly worried – GTI
is
very much Amiga/CD32 committed and will remain so.
I see no point in buying shares however – the banks come first in any sale of
assets and I doubt if shareholders will find anthying left over for thm after
such a company break-up..
