BetacamSP or MII?

Adib, I have it on reliable authority that the MII decks shown at NAB will provide much better video (and audio) performance than the Bcam counterparts. Most people will tell you that MII is a dead format. I still use it (as well as BetaSP) so I hope the naysayers are wrong. I use MII as my edit deck and source on Betacam. The results are outstanding even though I am using Toaster as my switcher (it degrades the signal somewhat because it works in composite instead of true component). I manage to retain a good deal of quality by using a composite-to-component transcoder at Toaster's output. If you decide to go with either of the component formats (BetcamSP or MII) or any combination thereof, I suggest you look into a component transcoder for the Toaster. Frank
