#DXF out o mem

Being that I'm backing into acad via 3ds3 I'm learning that dxf isn't always
a
blessing when it comes to modeling from contract docs! My dwg files balloon
up by almost 100%!
I guess I was expecting to be able to export to the shaper
by turning off layers using the Layer dialogue box to elliminate all those
items I,ve grown to avoid thinking about(details, details, details) Leaving
just proposed structure . I've become an erase..window..crossing kinda guy!
It's ironic that I used to work so hard to create this kind of mess now I'm a
minimalist!
I've been importing dxf files to Coreldraw to generate reliable shapes to
put in the shaper. This procedure makes corelldraw sooooo sloooow! Should I
clean up the dwg in acad then increase the capacity of the lofter in the
3ds.est file
and skip coreldraw? Thanks, Gary
