Dear SuperTech – — Symptoms – While heavy disk use of my second newly installed drive, such as copying from the original drive or rendering with use of bitmaps and storing of animations : (Extremely frequent !) RECEIVE>> gvpscsi.device : unit 003 Unexpected Status $40/$00 RESUME RECEIVE>> Work has read error Work is a partition on original drive on disk block 120737 RETRY RECEIVE>> Wk2 has write error Wk2 is new drive (one partition) on disk block 1082600 RETRY Continues on its merry way Obviously, or not, the block numbers will change based on when the occurence is. System – A2000 GVP Combo '040 with 12Meg RAM GVP TBC Plus GVP DSS8+ on Amiga native printer port DCTV RGB converter on Amiga native video port DCTV on Amiga native video port SuperGen external Genlock External floppy drive on Amiga native drive port Maxtor 121MB 7120SCS drive connected internally to COMBO '040 Fujitsu 1029MB M2266S-512 drive in mini tower connected externally to COMBO '040 Layout – EXTERNAL '040 card INTERNAL Fujitsu ——————————–|—————————Maxtor Terminated Unterminated Terminated addr 03 addr 07 addr 00 MOUNT (Wk2) 5Meg BOOT (Sys) 116Meg MOUNT (Work) User-Startup – CPU NOCACHE GVPCPUCTRL FASTROM MOVESSP CPU CACHE GVPScsiCtrl 003 DCOFF There are other parameters (Paths, etc. in startup) but I do not believe any have effect on drives. The most interesting phenomena was in the EXPERTPREP. I could not enter 1658 for # of cylinders even though the documentation for the Fujitsu drive indicates that 1658 is the correct number. The EXPERTPREP forced this number to be 1652. HHHHHEEEEELLLPPPP ! Sincerely yours, Art Reed
