Spencer,
I'm not a Yoster, but Select/Element is a handy and quick technique for
building selections of faces and vertices for use with the Modify/Face or
Modify/Vertex commands. It does seem odd that you can't use selected elements
with the Element commands but you're not losing much functionality.
