Fred,
>> We may be the first generation to see our childhood fantasies come to
life… <<
Well my grandmother, who has since passed away several years ago, was born in
1890 and in 1969 she watched a man walk on the moon on T.V. Something that
twenty year old's today (a generation) only know from news reels. The point
being, I don't know whether we're moving forward, sideways or backward. But
we've had tremendous advances in the hardware side of computers. The real
question it seems to me is how to assimilate the tremendous amount of data
being generated, (notice I didn't use the word information) which seems totally
unmanageable in its current state. I think this is the biggest challenge for
the next century. As an example, try reading a day's worth of Internet. <g>
On another note, isn't it interesting that this generation (twenty year old's)
have grown up with Star Trek and are psychologically prepared to meet aliens
from other worlds, while at the same time the space shuttles are not capable of
geo-synchronous orbit. Most curious world we live in. <g>
It took about a week to get the Phar Lap Frontrunner, hope it works for you.
