I just think the problem generally (excepting Commodore's own marketing/management problems) springs from the fact that the Amiga in many ways was ahead of its time; the marketplace wasn't quite ready. E.g., A-Squared's LIVE! boards handled real-time digitized video in full-screen color back in the late '80s, but now (I believe) the operation is defunct, just as boards of this type are just surfacing on PCs and Macs, with Amiga second-generation stuff promised. Sad. OTOH, I know LIVE! boards were put to good use and probably still are being used, just not by enough people.
