I see, you define "importance" as how a product has directly influenced
Commodore's sales figures. I've heard guesses that NewTek moved roughly a
thousand Toasters a month on a regular basis, and since CBM was shipping XXX
numbers of 2000/3000/4000s, we can somehow say that the Toaster wasn't
influential if the ratio is small. I don't think it's that clear-cut.
I think Amiga dealers would give a different answer… iif it wasn't for the
videots who continued to buy other software packages at a regular rate, I think
a lot of them would have dropped the Amiga products a long time ago. Is there
more profit selling GVP accelerators or $20 games?
So can you think of other products or companies that you'd rank as "important"?
