John, Unix is great. I personally can type really fast and I like a command line based OS. I used to use an operating system on Apollo computers called AEGIS. It was the perfect balance between a graphical GUI and a text based one. I used it at the U of Mich when I was a student. We had a network of a couple hundred nodes. It was interesting because you could start up a process on virtually any other node on the net if you knew how. It was great because you could have one window open per CPU you wanted to use. After HP bought out Apollo, it kinda got all kludged up however. NT. I like it, but I don't have _any_ apps that drive it directly yet. I suppose the first one I'll get is ACAD when it comes out. The thing I like best is its always ready to do something else. When you load a program under Win 3.1, the hourglass comes up and your trapped. Under NT, the cursor come back immediately, with an hourglass attached. You can continue to do whatever as the other program loads, and you really don't feel it. It also prints MUCH faster than 3.1. I don't know why, but it is a great deal faster. Device driver support is abysmal compared to 3.1 however. Mark
