New GIF viewer
MULTIMEDIA GIF VIEWER IN SIGHT AND SOUND FORUM 31-Mar-94
GIF graphic images can now contain MIDI and sampled sounds, thanks to
extensions to the GIF specification recently created by the Sight and Sound
Forum. These extensions allow the embedding and performance of both MIDI
sequencing and WAV digital sound data within a CompuServe GIF file.
Download MMGIF.ZIP to view Multimedia GIF images under Windows, and use the
DOS-based EMBED.ZIP to create your own MMGIF images from scratch. MMGIF
software for other platforms is being encouraged, and developers are welcomed
to stop by for more details.
The images in a Multimedia GIF file are viewable with any GIF viewer, though
the audio portion of the file can only be accessed with a Multimedia GIF
