Matthew, glad to be of help. It really depends on what you use your Amiga for whether to get the ECS chips. I would say if you use your Amiga for a lot of graphical work ( DPaint, Imagine, etc. ) or music sequencing ( OctaMED ) then it might be of use to get a Fatter Agnus. Fatter Agnus is one of the ECS chips along with Super Denise. A Fatter Agnus would allow your Amiga to read/write to 1 meg of chip ram, as opposed to half a meg. Chip ram is the portion of the Amiga's ram that can be accesed by the Amiga's custom chips, so this is the area of ram where graphics data and sound data is stored in order for the OS to work on it. Your Amiga may already have a Fatter Agnus anyway since some Amigas were shipped with Fatter Agnuses prior to the official launch of the whole ECS chipset anyway. Download a program called SysInfo it will tell you your Amiga chip setup. Super Denise is a chip that allows the other screenmodes and if you havn't found a need for them yourself then I would say you don't need it. best wishes, Tony. Driving my deck on AutoPilot
