Steve, Your friend needs an Amiga 1084 or 1070 or other Amiga monitor, if possible. Otherwise, he can use a multisync if it will go as low as 15.7. Most of the newer ones start at about 31.4, and those won't work. As for the modem, his Amiga can use any Hayes-compatible modem and a standard serial cable. That is VERY simple to do. And we have a library full of term programs he can choose from. If he is lucky enough to have found an Amiga500 with 2.04 or later installed, and he has a 1M Agnus and at least 2M of fast memory, he could even use AutoPilot, the automated CIS navigator for the Amiga. It is in AmigaVendor, Library 9, AP.LHA. This is a demo version. He can see if it works on his machine, and if so, then he can register it and get the full version. —Betty
